Responsible events
Responsible event organization is important to us at Paviljonki. The responsibility work is guided by our company’s strategy and we work all the time to produce sustainable events.
The goal of our responsibility working group is to promote sustainable development in our company. In our responsibility work, we take into account both the environment and the well-being of our stakeholders, as well as economic and social obligations.
On this page, we talk about the measures already taken and open up future goals.
Environmental Responsibility

For us, environmental responsibility means concrete actions in our own operations. We are committed to saving natural resources and increasing positive effects on the environment. As proof of that, we have been granted an EcoCompass certificate.
Our environment promise
Responsible event organization is important to us and we are constantly developing our operations to produce sustainable events.
We are committed to developing environmentally friendly practices, reducing carbon dioxide emissions and using renewable energy sources and improving energy efficiency.
We strive to reduce the burden on the environment by using ecological materials, developing material recycling and utilizing reusable structures.
At the same time, we communicate to personnel, customers, partners and other stakeholders about our responsibility work and encourage them to participate in the development of increasingly sustainable operating methods!
Environment program
The environmental program for the years 2025-2027 has been built. We have chosen three priorities, the development of which we will focus on in the first phase of the program. The focal points were selected using environmental impact scores.
1. Waste
2. Material use
3. Communication
Objectives related to the focal points are e.g. development of waste management for the entire process (sorting throughout the house and drawing up a new waste management plan as well as setting and monitoring goals), mapping and developing the recyclability and ecology of used materials, and communicating environmental issues internally and externally.
Responsible food
Our restaurant operations are handled by Food&Events event restaurants, which is wholeheartedly involved in important food-related responsibility issues.
Food&Events Event restaurants produces sustainable events and responsible stories. Responsibility is guided by a responsibility strategy, which emphasizes the well-being of personnel and the community, good governance, and the well-being of the environment and climate. Food&Events has been awarded with the EcoCompass certificate in 2022.
Food&Events Event restaurants have also been granted the Key Flag Symbol for services produced and employed in Finland. Whenever possible, Paviljonki’s events use local producers and the raw materials they offer. Central Finland has a lot of high-quality food products, which we are happy to serve to Finnish and international event guests.
Accessibility
We are very accessible both nationally and locally. There are good public transport connections to Paviljonki and we are located a short walk from the Jyväskylä travel center and all the hotels in the city center area. We guide and encourage everyone who comes to us to arrive by public transport.
Social Responsibility
Personnel
We invest in the well-being of our personnel, e.g. by offering personnel benefits, training and development opportunities and equal employment opportunities.
- Comprehensive occupational health services
- Smartum lunch benefit and exercise benefits
Personnel are also involved in our company’s strategy work. With the help of a regular personnel survey, we monitor the well-being of our personnel and with the help of a digital working time monitoring, we monitor the use of working time.
Our event-time employees work through our personnel partner Bondata. The personnel experience and job satisfaction of all temporary workers is monitored with the regularly implemented survey. The measurement provides information on the management of work communities, communication, atmosphere, work content and employees’ ability to work. In 2024, we got the best results in the Central Finland region and with it the GoFeel work community of the year recognition!
Equality
We believe that all people are equal and should be treated equally, regardless of personal characteristics such as age, origin, nationality, religion, opinion, health, disability or sexual orientation.
We are a supporting member of Jyväskylä SETA ry and participate in supporting the Jyväskylä Pride 2025 event.

Governance Responsibility
Local operator
Jyväskylä Fair Ltd is responsible for Paviljonki’s operations. We are a strong local operator whose largest shareholders are the city of Jyväskylä, Osuuskauppa Keskimaa, Mediakonserni Keskisuomalainen and Keski-Suomen Osuuspankki.
Paviljonki’s events have a significant impact on the Jyväskylä region’s economy and overall employment. In 2024, the fairs and events organized in Paviljong brought a total of 38 million euros in revenue to Jyväskylä. The total regional employment effect created by Paviljonki’s operation was 520 work years.
Customers and other stakeholders
We measure our customers’ satisfaction with surveys and NPS metrics. We also want to consider our customers and listen to them in our company’s strategy work.
We cooperate extensively with educational institutions in various events. Many of our trade fairs have educational institutions as partners. In addition, we strive to offer students internship and thesis work opportunities and to get to know working life as much as possible. Paviljonki also serves as a part-time workplace for many students.
Jyväskylä Fair Ltd annually chooses a charity target to which the funds for that year are donated before Christmas instead of traditional Christmas commemorations. The target is selected by the staff.
In previous years, UNICEF’s activities have been supported for several years by enabling Jyväskylä’s volunteer group and the fundraising team to have a free meeting point for public events at Paviljonki.
